When you first create your PhoneThru account you need to set a password.
When you actually sign in to your account you can use the password you set or have a one-time-password (OTP) code sent to your phone in text message. OTP is super-convenient but you can only use it with your phone. If you don’t have your phone with you, you’ll need your password to access your account. So keep it in a safe place, preferably accessible from a device other than your phone.
If you lose your phone and forget your password, you’ll need to email us to help recover your account.
Changing your password when signed in
If you’re signed in to your account, you can change your password on the Account page.
To get to the Account page, tap the CHANGE PROFILE button on the home page. (The VIEW ACCOUNT button at the bottom of the page works as well).
If you tap CHANGE PROFILE you’ll go to the Account page and then automatically scroll down a bit to the profile section.
Scroll up a bit to the top of the page.
At the top of the Account page you’ll see a card with your customer details – name, mobile number, account number and so on. Tap on the link titled Change Password.
On the Change Password page, enter your new password.
We don’t have strict requirements for your password like a certain amount of capital letters and numbers. We just make sure you use a strong password.
As you enter your new password, the strength meter will update and you’ll see a few hints about how to strengthen your password further.
Once your password is strong enough, the CHANGE PASSWORD button at the bottom will activate. Tap it to save your new password.
Changing your password if you can’t sign in
If you can’t sign in because you’ve forgotten your password and you can’t receive an OTP code, you’ll need to contact us to help recover your account.
Email us at hello@phonethru.com and we’ll get you sorted.
